About Cohesion Architecture
Cohesion Architecture is a Louisiana-based, woman-owned architectural practice headquartered in Lake Charles. Founded by Heather Burton, AIA, and Eric Burton, Assoc. AIA, the firm was created to serve communities through purposeful design, disciplined project delivery, and accountable leadership.
We believe architecture is most successful when owners, users, designers, consultants, and contractors move cohesively toward a shared vision. Our purpose is to design with purpose, lead with integrity, and build for community.
Our philosophy is rooted in clear leadership and disciplined process. We emphasize early alignment among owners, design teams, and consultants so that projects are constructible, compliant, and responsive to long-term operational needs. Every project begins with listening to understand the owner’s goals and user needs.

Heather Burton, AIA
President | Principal Architect
Heather provides overall leadership as Principal-in-Charge and Architect of Record. She directs design vision, technical documentation, code compliance, and quality control from concept through closeout. With nearly two decades of professional experience, Heather brings steady leadership, thoughtful design judgment, and a strong commitment to client service, community, and constructible project delivery.
Eric Burton, Assoc. AIA
Operations Officer | Project Manager
Eric oversees project coordination, schedule and budget management, consultant communication, and construction administration. He serves as a consistent point of contact for owners, consultants, and contractors throughout the project. His background in business operations, process improvement, construction coordination, and client relations helps bridge design intent, field execution, and owner priorities.
